The Magna'Tron blends single-coil twang with unique Filter'Tron & DeArmond influence. Although it can sound just like a single-coil, it is built with two coils (humbucking). The dual-coils provide a hint of compression on the high-end and no 60-cycle hum. One part of this design that makes the Magna'Tron so special is it's staggered cylinder Fender-style magnets.
Bright and chirpy with quick attack and exceptional pop and clarity. The Magna'Tron delivers a unique mix of single-coil spank meets Filter'Tron style twang with no hum! Slightly brighter and tighter on the bass than the TV Classic.
DC Resistance is not entirely an indicator of true pickup output, although it can be helpful.

The DeArmond Mount is a direct drop-in replacement for guitars with standard sized Dynasonic/DeArmond 2000 style pickups. This pickup comes with two pieces of foam shims for height adjustment. DeArmond Mounting Screws are sold separately if necessary.
This pickup is shipped with 4-conductor wire but is ready for standard 2-conductor connection. The extra red and green wires come soldered together and taped off - to split coils, send these to ground. Please do not sever the green and red wires - your pickup will not work due to the circuit being broken.
Splitting coils is generally not recommended with the Magna'Tron because of its natural tight and bright sound, however some may enjoy it. Additionally, the 4-Conductor wire is convenient for custom switching i.e. pickups combined in series or parallel.
Dynasonic/DeArmond Replacement: The DeArmond Mount is a direct drop in replacement for guitars with Vintage DeArmonds, Dynasonics, and most other DeArmond 2000 style pickups.
Gretsch G6128TDS 2020 and newer: The pickups in this guitar are not the same size (height) as Vintage DeArmonds or older DynaSonics. TV Jones T-Armond pickups will not fit this guitar.
Filter'Tron Replacement: Replacing Filter'Tron-style pickups with DeArmond Mount pickups is not optimal.
Mounting Screws: DeArmond Mounting screws are sold seperately because most people use the ones already on their guitar. If you need new or extra screws, you can find Dearmond Mounting Screws in our hardware section.
TV Jones handcrafts your pickup and wiring harness at the time of order. Generally, orders ship within three to five business days.
If you require expedited service, please let us know in the notes when you order and we will do our best to accomodate your situation.
