T-90 Bridge Soapbar Mount

  • T-90 - bridge - soapbar Mount

The T-90 is our answer to the traditional P-90 pickup that combines a classic design with a touch of TV Jones sparkle and clarity. The result is a full & fat sound with clear, transparent overtones.

    Tone/Characteristics

The bridge pickup has thicker highs and more defined lows than what is commonly heard from traditional P-90s. We use two Filter'Tron bar magnets, as well as Filter'Tron pole screws and wider pole-to-pole spacing on the bridge pickup. This provides more inductance for a thicker tone and plenty of dynamics. The neck pickup has two thinner bar magnets which contributes to it's clarity and warmth. It is considerably less boomy than traditional P-90s.

    Installation:

The Soapbar Mount is a direct drop-in replacement for any standard size Soapbar style pickups. This pickup ships with mounting screws and compression foam for adjustment. To learn more about the Soapbar Mount, check out the Tech Specs tab.

  • Output/Power

DC Resistance is not entirely an indicator of true pickup output, although it can be helpful.

    Bridge: DCR - 8.1K / Inductance - 7.15H

    Neck: DCR - 6.7k / Inductance - 5.14H

    Wiring Notes

This pickup is shipped with standard 2-conductor wire.

    Helpful Notes

Soapbar Replacement:The Soapbar Mount is a direct drop in replacement for any standard size soapbar style pickups. The change in mount does not change the sound of the pickup.

P90s in a 2016 made in America SG with P90s

When I ordered these, there was some question by TV Jones staff if these would fit my guitar without modifications. There was a slight modification I had to perform to the brass mounting plate below the neck pickup. Even though the mounting screws lined up, the pole piece screws did not. A simple task of enlarging the holes on the mounting plate solved that issue. The bridge pickup plate needed no modifications. I did have to lower the pickups below the TV Jones recommended height, because the strings were hitting the body of the pickups. I ended up using Gibson's setup specs. I've only played the guitar out once since I installed these pickups, but, I love them! As in the TV Jones Filtertrons I installed in my Gretsch, they are much more articualte sounding the the original Gibson pickups.

Thank you once again Tom, for some great sounding pickups. I may do one of my teles next...

T-90

I bought these pickups to put into a les paul special I bought on the cheap. I had been anxious to get a guitar with p-90s as I heard so many good things about them. I was flat disappointed in them, dark and muddy. held onto the guitar, and finally decided to try the t-90s, and couldn't be happier, brightened the guitar up and finally had the, now I know why people like these pickups so much moment. Buy, these, you will not regret it. Tom, still waiting on the strat pups!!!! lol

T-90 bridge pickup does it all.

Everything you'd expect from this style of pickup plus so much more. The bite, sustain, drive and grit is there... With amazing clarity and note blossom. Very playable and musical pickup. TV Jones continues to set the standard for excellence with the T-90.

This is everything I need in tone.

I recently fell in love with TV Jones. So, being infatuated I went and bought a p-90 for my custom, carved top jaguar. This pickup replaced a Lace Alumitone P-90, and now this guitar screams. In a good way. The Alumitones may be for some folks, but I find them sterile and uninteresting. They just lack a sense of mojo. I can't FEEL them. But this TV 90 is probably the greatest pickup I have played on aside from the TV humbucker set I got to go with it. Do yourself a favor.....get the TV. If you're reading this, you already want to, or are curious. Take it from me, a 20 year vet of playing and owner of at least 30 guitars.....take the leap. Get the TV into your rig. You will thank me, and yourself.
