T-Armond Bridge Soapbar Mount

  • T-Armond - bridge - soapbar Mount

Our version of the original DeArmond 2000 pickups are more controlled in the high frequencies, taking away earth shattering ice-pickiness while keeping that "off-the-rails" attitude that these pickups are known for. Of course, at lower gain levels they sing with unmatched fidelity and clarity. Tom designed our T-Armond set after Brian Setzer's ‘56 Silver Jet that was used on his Dirty Boogie album. That guitar spent many hours on Tom's workbench over the years.

    Tone/Characteristics

The T-Armonds are in a league of their own with crystal clear highs, bellowing lows, and a tastefully controlled midrange. They perform really well with and without a lot of gain. Some say they sound like tele pickups on steroids.

    Installation:

The Soapbar Mount is a direct drop-in replacement for any standard size Soapbar style pickups. This pickup ships with mounting screws and compression foam for adjustment. To learn more about the Soapbar Mount, check out the Tech Specs tab.

  • Output/Power

    Helpful Notes

Soapbar Replacement:The Soapbar Mount is a direct drop in replacement for any standard size soapbar style pickups. The change in mount does not change the sound of the pickup.

Super Tone!!

Bought this pickup because I wanted to try something different in my Telecaster, while maintaining the classic single coil sound. The T-Armond superceded all my expectations, and gave a new flavor to my tone; it's open, warm, and articulate as all get out. Undoubtedly, the right choice for anyone looking to take their tone to the next level!

Outstanding

I purchased a set in the P90 mount and they fit like a glove. The tone is outstanding and I love the hum canceling when both pups are engaged. Clear, deep and full of punch.

Oh, that sound!

I've always liked the looks and sound of a "la cab" tele. I've tried a few MIM models, but they didn't have "that sound". A few years back, I put together a T- style partscaster with a single P-90 with Esquire style wiring. Over time, my tastes changed and I replaced the P-90 with a TV Classic Plus with just basic volume and tone controls. I loved the simplicity of that setup, and that sound, oh man, that sound! Then last year, an infamous high end company released a guitar with their humbucker on the bridge position, a brass barrel bridge, and a d-style neck pickup. I loved the idea, but I'm a pretty diehard tele guy. So I decided to make my own. What can I say that hasn't been said before about the T-Armond? That sound! That sound that I've been searching for. In combination with the Tv Classic plus in the bridge and a three way switch, this is what I've been searching for! Beautiful, articulate clean tones, but throw in a bit of gain and you're into classic Aerosmith or Zz Top tones with ease. I'm far from a great player, but after noodling around for the past 30 years, I know what I like. These rock!!!

Best sound ever

I always loved the sound of the old Gretsch. I wanted this sound so bad in my Blueshawk.
I put on a Bigsby an a pair of these bad boys - T-Armonds. Braaaang - there it is. Rock&Roll heaven ;-)
I never thought it could be that close to the sound of the old recordings from the 50's. Cliff Gallup would love this pickups.
They are warm but cut through the mix. The bridge pushes the amp hard but stays clean (mostly).
Thanks TV Jones for those amazing pickups!!!
Greetings from Austria!
