The Magna’Tron blends single-coil twang with unique Filter'tron & DeArmond influence. Although it can sound just like a single-coil, it is built with two coils (humbucking). The dual-coils provide a hint of compression on the high-end and no 60-cycle hum. One part of the recipe that makes the Magna'Tron so special is it's staggered cylinder “Fender-style” magnets.
Bright and chirpy with quick attack and exceptional pop and clarity. The Magna’tron delivers a unique mix of single-coil spank meets Filter’Tron style twang with no hum. Slightly brighter and tighter on the bass than the TV Classic.

Bridge: DCR - 8.0k / Inductance - 2.92H
Neck: DCR - 4.8k / Inductance - 1.24H
This pickup is shipped with 4-conductor wire but is ready for standard 2-conductor connection. The extra red and green wires come soldered together and taped off - to split coils, send these to ground.
Splitting coils is generally not recommended with the Magna’Tron because of its natural tight and bright sound, however some may enjoy it. Additionally, the 4-Conductor wire is convenient for custom switching i.e. pickups combined in series or parallel.
Soapbar Replacement:The Soapbar Mount is a direct drop in replacement for any standard size soapbar style pickups. The change in mount does not change the sound of the pickup.
Dog Ear Replacement:The Soapbar Mount is not a replacement for Dog Ear style pickups. To replace a Dog Ear pickup, pair any of our Universal Mount pickups (English Mount for T-Armond and T-90) paired with our EM3 (Dog Ear style) Ring.
Great clarity and note definition, no Mud! Gets even better with a treble bleed on the volume.
I love this pickup!
The Magna'Tron in the neck position gave my Les Paul some chime and sparkle over the stock humbucker which was muddy with mids. I would put it in between a single and a humbucker. A fat single without the hum!
