I wanted to thank you again for helping me to get these pickups. I received them in this past Friday’s mail…. I loaded up TV’s “how-to” Youtube video on installing and watched each step as I performed the install…..everything went smooth as silk and when I plugged the guitar in, I was rewarded with the sound I hoped to hear! Your pickups made my G5120 sound like a pro-line!

This afternoon, I took it over to my son’s and compared it side-by-side with his new Reverend Horton Heat model, with the same pickups….and I swear that if I was blindfolded I do not think I could tell the difference in sound….well, to be honest, I think I may, because my neck pickup actually sounds better than his when they are played by themselves (‘course, I didn’t say that to him!). He actually said that to me! He said that he thinks he needs a “set-up” to make his neck pickup sound more in balance!!!!

So, your pickups….plus your online help video and setup instructions for height made my G5120 into a pro-line clone!

If I had to describe how excited I am about these TV Classics, I’d say it’s relatively equal to the feeling I’d have if I won an all expenses paid trip on the back of a unicorn to a week-long recording session (produced by Rick Rubin) at a secret bunker on the moon. Fully stocked with a walk-in fridge full of Belgian beer and catering provided by the Salt Lick in Austin, Texas. Christina Hendricks (of AMC’s smash hit drama ‘Mad Men’) may or may not also be engineering (and will, over time, reveal that she has developed a ‘thing’ for me). So yeah dudes, I’m stoked. High fives all around.

I just purchased a Powertron (neck) and Powertron Plus (both humbucker format) to replace the existing pickups in my Ibanez AR300. Took be less that 30 minutes to complete the retrofit. I am so impressed with the tone I am now getting. These things are amazing. Clarity with the most awesome crunch when you start to dig in.

I don’t understand why the bigger guitar manufacturers don’t offer these as a standard options for the guitars they produce.

Well done, You’ve got another fan. Fitting TV Jones pickups is the easiest way to breath new life and tone into your guitar.

Hi Tom,

I finally got the set of T-Armond’s I got from you a while back installed in my Black Falcon and they sound amazing. The clarity, especially at the neck pickup, and the balance between the neck and bridge, have really made a huge difference in this guitar. All positions are usable now. I love single coils and this is the first experience I’ve had with this type of pickup. The stock Gretsch pickups were a little disappointing but the your version exceeded my expectations. Nice job! I also want to thank you for the simple yet brilliant tube installation kit. It made the change out a breeze along with the your YouTube instructional. Normally when working on hollowbody electronics I vent a few expletives. The only time I did this time was because of an errant drop of solder I dropped in my lap. Yikes! Thanks once more!
